Lousy Solutions is committed to providing quality services and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information. We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?
Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. In general, the personal information which we collect from you will depend on the type of relationship we have with you and may include your name, contact details, your general dealings with Lousy Solutions and other information that you have provided to us as a result of any communication, dealings, or transaction. Personal information that we collect and hold is information that is reasonably necessary for the proper performance of our functions and activities in providing face to face and remote services.
This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including interviews, correspondence, by telephone, by video call, by facsimile, by email, via our website www.lousysolutions.com or social media www.facebook.com/lousy.solutions, from your website or other online accounts, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from cookies, from identifiers for mobile devices, from third parties.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. 
Google Analytics transmits website traffic data to servers offshore.
You can opt out of Google Analytics cookies by installing an add-on for your web browser.

Sensitive Information
Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.
Sensitive information will be collected or used by us:

  • When it is necessary in order to provide the services requested (primary purpose).

  • For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose

  • With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.

We will not collect personal or sensitive information about you unless that information is necessary for our business purposes. If you choose not to share requested information with Lousy Solutions, we may be unable to provide you with the products or services you require.
 
Third Parties
Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.
 
Disclosure of Personal Information
Your Personal Information may be disclosed in some circumstances including the following:

  • Third parties who are hired to provide services on our behalf, including but not limited to organisations that provide data processing, mailing services, billing services, printing and fulfilment services. Those companies will be permitted to obtain only the personal information required to deliver the specific service and we will be required to show, through submission of their own privacy policy, that they have also adopted the APPs.

  • Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and

  • Where required or authorised by law.

 
Security of Personal Information
Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.
 
Disclosure of personal information to overseas entities.
Lousy Solutions may from time to time utilise the services of external vendors that store information outside of Australia. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information which is transferred outside of Australia will not be used or disclosed by the recipient inconsistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Spamming
Lousy Solutions does not condone "spamming". Spamming is defined as sending unsolicited e-mails, usually of a commercial nature, in large numbers and repeatedly to individuals with whom the sender has had no previous contact or who has declined to receive such communications. If Lousy Solutions believes that certain information is of importance to you, we may inform you by e-mail but will give you the choice to opt out of receiving further communications of this type.

Access to your Personal Information
You may access the Personal Information we hold about you and request it be updated and/or corrected, subject to certain exceptions.
If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing.
Lousy Solutions will not charge any fee for your access request but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.
In order to protect your Personal Information, we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.
 
Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information
It is an important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up to date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.
